Another in a series of McCain-related seeds as I research the senator for a article coming to the Vine...
"Bush's troubles have sent voters fleeing from his party. In 2004, 47 percent of Americans leaned toward the Democratic Party, with 44 percent leaning Republican—a 3-point difference. Today, it's 51 to 38 in favor of the Democrats—a gap of 13 percentage points.
To win, McCain will have to pry away a lot of voters who currently find the GOP unappealing. Obama (or Clinton), by contrast, will have only to avoid alienating those who are already favorably inclined to a change.
Issue after issue also promises to hurt Republicans. Among the topics creating the most anxiety are the economy, domestic matters like health care and Immigration, and Iraq. Of those, Immigration is the only one that might not favor the Democrats."
The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost.
I recommend reading the entire article, and particularly the comments about the ramifications for both parties, not just McCain.
Yes the data look ominous, but there is a fundamental truth in the fact that it takes 20 years for Americans to become bored with Conservative policies, and only 20 minutes to get bored listening to Socialist garbage of the modern Democrat. The modern Democrat will live a short life in the exposing sun light that is our media, even among our spoiled, brain-washed educated youth, and their equally self-serving special interest comrades.
Charles,
Then it is your considered opinion that the present administration represents all that is good for America, and only an occasional dose of Libral Scum is required to keep the American dream alive?
Perhaps you could point to one or two small failings in the present Compassionate Conservative party's New World Order that would help us to more appreciate your objectivity on this subject. Surely there must be at least one.
